Topic: The Man of War
The LORD is a man of war: the LORD is his name. Exodus 15:3. Read: Joshua 10:8-11
What makes a warrior a warrior at the battle field is the amount of sophisticated weapons at his disposal and years of experience. Some of the reasons the Israelites were dismayed and greatly afraid when Goliath of Gath came out to defy the armies of Israel was 1) His height 2) His armoury 3) His arrogant words 4)His experience because he has been a man of war from his youth. 1 Sam. 17:33. I like to inform you that our God is a man of war, who has fought battles in ages past and has never failed, neither will he ever lost a battle till the end of age.
The reason God is a man of war is because all the sophisticated weapons are at His disposal, He can reach out for anyone and use. For instance, He can use fire to fight His enemies, because, He is a consuming fire. Heb. 12:29. He can use water to destroy His enemies just as He did to the Egyptians, he could rain on them hailstones from Heaven just as He did to the the enemy of His children in our bible reading. With this knowledge of God been a man of war, Moses said, “for the Egyptians whom ye have seen today, ye shall see them again no more for ever. The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace”. Matt 14:13-14. Note, hope you’re God’s child? Because
