ANCHORED SCRIPTURES: JEREMIAH 51:20-23

The MESSAGE:
This scripture we have read, which is the focus of our prayers later on in this program was one of the words spoken to me by the Lord many years ago. “Thou art my Battle Axe”.
I am believing God that there will be somebody here this morning, that when God calls and says ” Who will be my battle axe?” Will say “Lord mark my name present. I want to become your battle axe”.
In that Jeremiah 51:20, God said ” you are my battle axe and you are to break into pieces 10 things”:
- The nations
- The kingdoms
- The horse and his rider
- The chariots and his rider
- Men and women
- Old and young
- Young men and the maid
- The shepherd and his flock
- The husbandman and his oxen
- The captain and rulers.
We do not have the time to explain to you one by one the spiritual implications of those 10 things He is asking you to go and break but the bottom line is that there is a battle to fight and we are in a war. Even if you do not believe that is you are in a battle or that you are fighting a battle, war has been declared against you anyway.
If you like you fight, or if you like you do not fight, war has been declared against you. And you say “but I did not offend anybody, why are they declaring war against me?” That is why the Bible calls them ‘The Wicked’.

They are just wicked, you do not have to offend them. They are just not happy with you, that’s all. And they want to make sure you do not fulfil your destiny.
There is a battle on, and battles are fought with weapons. God is looking for battle axes. A battle axe is a weapon of war. There are battles and there are wars.
One tragedy of life is for you to be in a battle and you do not even know that you are in a battle. It is a dangerous thing indeed.
Exodus 15:3 tells us that the Lord is a Man of war. What the Bible is calling battle axe here physically was first used by the Romans many years ago.
It is designed to be swung by the handle and brought forcefully down on the enemy. It was designed for hand to hand fighting. It has a sharp blade at the edge. It destroys. It cuts. So the battle axe is a symbol of battle and a symbol of war.
No one talks about battle axe if there is no battle to fight. No one will say ‘you are my weapon of war’ if there is no war to fight. The Bible tells us that God is a Man of war. And it is important for us to understand that if He is a Man of war then we His children have no reason being civilians.
When a man is inside a battle and you are not aware that you are inside a battle, the person dies cheaply, as casualty in the battle field. Whether you are interested in the battle or not, you must fight. Whether you feel concerned or not, you must fight.
The battle does not need your permission. The battle does not need your awareness. The battle does not want to know whether you are willing to fight or not. There is no neutral ground in this matter. It is a battle between light and darkness, right and wrong, good and evil, righteous and unrighteous, between the circumcised and the uncircumcised.
When you are a believer without the battle consciousness, you die like a chicken. If you live without that battle consciousness, you end up as a casualty.
To live in this world and say there is no battle to fight is to end up as a mess. The Philistines were conscious of their battles but unfortunately, Samson was not conscious.
The Philistines normally carried their charms and fetish powers to the war front. They had been doing several incantations and all kinds of invocations to arrest Samson. But Samson kept escaping because the Hand of God was upon his life. That is why when they caught Samson and dragged him to the grinding mill, the first thing they did was to sacrifice to their gods for capturing Samson.
==> (Answer a 10-fold amen) I decree right now that any power that is taking your name from shrine to shrine, from witch doctor to witch doctor, from magic to magic, from sorcerer to sorcerer, before you leave this place, they must die in the name of Jesus!
So the dark powers are aware that there is a battle. The wizards and sorcerers know that there is a battle. Principalities and powers know that there is a battle but many believers do not have the consciousness and sometimes when the MFM begins to teach it, some look lost. Some will say “why are they glorifying the devil?”
One of the rules of warfare is to study your enemy, so you can know how to attack.
==> I am praying that every war waged against you shall perish in the name of Jesus! And the wickedness of the wicked assigned against you shall be disgraced in the name of Jesus.
To be ignorant in this battle is a disaster. So what is God saying to us here? “I want to use you to undo the devil”. The Lord is saying “you are no longer a person, you are a weapon. Stop behaving like a person. You are supposed to be a general purpose machine gun. You are an artillery machine, a tanker, a rifle. You are a fighter air craft”.
The aim of the devil is to undermine the oil of God upon your head. Do not allow him to do that. Make up your mind today: I must become His battle axe.
How To Become God’s Battle Axe.
- You must aggressively refuse to be caged or boxed by the devil.
- You must pray and get the gifts of God in your life to resurrect.
- You must renounce powerless Christian living.
- You must become a disciple.
The word “Christian” is only mentioned in the Bible once but over and over again, the Bible talks about disciples. Every disciple is a believer but not every believer is a disciple.
Salvation (surrendering your life to Jesus) does not cost you anything but discipleship will cost you something. The Bible says “and whosoever does not bear his cross and come after me can not be my disciple”.
You must take up your cross and follow Jesus. And by the way, taking up your cross does not mean problems. Many people think it is problems, but it is not. The cross is where your own will and the will of God are colliding and you decide to follow the will of God. You follow Jesus no matter what happens. You just be a disciple.
The problem with the Nigerian Christians is that we have many church goers, many people who call themselves born again christians, but very scanty number of disciples. We need to become disciples so that we can be His battle axe.
PRAYER POINTS
- Powers waging war against answers to my prayers, your time is up, die in the name of Jesus.
- Every coven of the wicked making decisions against me, catch fire in the name of Jesus.
- Every power of “promise and fail”, affecting my progress, die in the name of Jesus.
- Every secret power in any house I have lived, working against my favour, die in the name of Jesus.
- Every law of Satan blocking my promotion, break in the name of Jesus.
- (Lay your right hand on your forehead) The original of my life stolen by the enemy, I recover you by fire in the name of Jesus.
- Demonic photocopy of me walking on the street, die in the name of Jesus.
- Powers assigned to investigate my future, die in the name of Jesus.
- Mantle of great things, I am available, fall upon me in the name of Jesus.
- Powers assigned to share my glory as a bonus to others in order to change my destiny, your time is up, die in the name of Jesus.
- Intercontinental blessings, I am available, locate me by fire in the name of Jesus.
- Satanic hunters hunting for my life this year, you are liars, die in the name of Jesus.
