Topic: Have Faith In God [TREM 3 October 2018 Daily Devotional]

In Mark 11, Jesus cursed a fig tree, because the fig tree had no fruits. By the next day, the fig tree had dried up from the roots, and the disciples were astonished, wondering how it was possible. Peter pointed this out to Jesus, and His response was “Have faith in God….” Child of God, I want to charge you even today, to have faith. He cannot fail. Paul admonishing in 1 Corinthians 2:5, tells us that our faith should not be based on the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. These days, most people seem to have lost faith in God and His unlimited power. Whilst we live in an information age, and knowledge is on the increase, the Bible still remains our source. Nowadays, people are too focused on what the news is saying, social media, the experts, their friends, and everything else other than what God is saying. And so cannot believe God for anything, because there is no word in them; bible says faith cometh by hearing the word of God. When they encounter challenges, it’s impossible to see a way out, because they don’t even know what God has to say concerning such situations. Psalms 119:105 says, “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. Child of God your faith must not be based on the opinions of experts, because like we have seen time and time again, even that is subject to failure. However, your faith must be in God. It is only after we have put our faith in God that we can then speak to our situation and it will obey. Beloved, if you must do exploits for the kingdom of God, your faith in God must be solid. These are not the days to just go with the flow, or just speak the lingo; your faith in God must be unshakeable. There’s no situation that can defy the word of God, everything is subject to His word. Knowing what His word says concerning a situation will give you the strength to stand. Get into the word, develop your faith in God, and see your challenges bow at your feet.
