“Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.” – James 4:10 KJV

Do you know that, sometimes, shame or embarrassment is a display of pride? It is you thinking that it is all about you, and not about Jesus. Pride always says ‘people have not seen me and because of that I am embarrassed.’ If you are not willing to humble yourself under the mighty hand of God, how can He exalt you? The blessing of humility is God’s grace that covers your weaknesses so that the devil would not be able to destroy you till He completes His work of transformation in your life.

The blessing you receive through humility is that God covers you. God uses His grace to cover you. He covers your weaknesses and your faults so that the devil would not be able to destroy you because of your faults, till God completes His work of transformation concerning your destiny.

Humility is resting in what God did for you without your effort. It is not about you but about Him. So humble yourself under the mighty hand of God and He will exalt you in due season. Aren’t you glad that God covers you so that the devil would not use your weakness to kill you, until He completes His work inside you? At times, pride makes it difficult for us to receive.

When we refuse the grace that God has made available, it is pride. So, if you are not willing to be laughed and scorned at and people point at you and talk in little corners concerning you, then you can’t get the blessing of grace. Stop looking at people. Begin to focus on the One who died for you. No wonder the Bible says ‘looking unto Jesus, the author and the finisher of your faith.’

In the book of Mark 5:40, the Bible declares that they laughed Jesus to scorn. They were laughing at God. But at the end of it all, there was an undeniable miracle.
