“As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.” – 1 Peter 4:10 KJV

If everyone in our churches begins to think, there would be no one unemployed. That is why I like what a brother from one of our church branches did. The young brother took my books and started reading them into CDs. He thought that, at times, people don’t read but they can listen when they are on the road. He came up with this idea, rather than sit down to beg. I also understand that his branch was one of those that were to be closed down. He went on to build a bakery at the location. I don’t know how he built it. But he built it there, so that it would be generating funds for the church. He is a youth! That is the product of thinking. He sat down to think through what he could do to improve the place where God planted him.

Let me tell you, any person who is only a consumer will not go far with God. In other words, if what you are asking God to do is for your own glory, He will not give it to you. God cannot endow you with the wisdom that is not meant to bless somebody. In 1 Peter 4:10, He says the gift you received is not for you. It could be singing, it could be administrative, it could be pastoring, preaching, teaching, prophesying or healing ministry; whatever it is, it is not for you.

Of what good are you, as a dress designer, if you are only designing inside your room? If there are no people modeling what you are designing, you have killed that gift. Of what good is your money if it is not blessing people? Of what good is your preaching when there are no people listening? Of what good is your singing if there are no people being edified by your songs? Your glory lies in the fact that you are a distributor of that gift.
