Topic: Lord I Thank You [TREM Devotional Monday June 11, 2018]

“Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation.” – Psalms 68:19

Our word for today makes it clear that there is a benefit for every single day you are privileged to experience. You are a beneficiary of God’s goodness and kindness daily. This is not a function of works, it is simply the grace of God.

Therefore, we must constantly maintain an attitude of gratitude always. As the popular saying goes, if you can think, then you can thank. Just pause for a moment and think about the goodness of God to you and your family, think about the victory He wrought on your behalf, think about the way He poured out His love on you… lift up your hands and say “Thank You Jesus”.

1 Chronicles 16:34(KJV) says “O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever.” The key to staying full of God is a thankful heart. As you are thanking Him, you’re reminding yourself of what He has said and done, and you are magnifying Him. The more you magnify the Lord, the bigger He becomes to you. If you stay around me, you will notice that throughout the day, I say thank you Jesus; I declare His praises. I just take a moment to bask in His goodness, because this God is too good.

There are so many things that God has done for you that you don’t even know about, you have no clue. The headache that killed the person on the news didn’t kill you. You drive and walk on the roads everyday, and He keeps you safe. You sleep and you wake up, because He kept you alive. Beloved, even if a thousand voices were raised to thank this God, it still wouldn’t be sufficient to appreciate how good this God is to us. I implore you to make thanksgiving a lifestyle, because this God is worthy of all our praise and adoration.
