TOPIC: The Mercy Of God Never Fails (TREM Devotional 11 November 2025)
And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that He had said that He would do unto them; and He did it not.” – Jonah 3:10
MESSAGE
Beloved, the Lord sent Jonah to go and preach to Nineveh, saying, “Tell them that I am displeased with their evil ways. Call them to repentance.” Jonah knew the voice of God, yet he chose to disobey. He packed his bags, took his money, and fled to Tarshish. But you can never truly run from God!
While Jonah was on the ship, a violent storm arose, and it was soon discovered that he was the cause. He was thrown overboard and swallowed by a great fish. Yet even there, the mercy of God preserved him. From the depths of the sea, Jonah cried out to God, and God heard him. The same mercy that spared his life caused the fish to vomit him onto dry land.
Jonah then obeyed and went to Nineveh to deliver God’s message. The people repented sincerely and God, in His infinite mercy, forgave them. They deserved judgment, but mercy said no! Truly, the mercy of God never fails.
As Lamentations 3:22-23 declares: “It is of the LORD’s mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is Thy faithfulness.”
Beloved, no matter how far you’ve gone or how deep you’ve fallen, God’s mercy is still reaching out to you. His mercy never gives up. His mercy never fails.
