TOPIC: Be Not Weary In Well Doing (TREM Devotional 12 April 2025)

“But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing.” (2 Thessalonians 3:13 KJV)

MESSAGE:

We live in a time when many are ungrateful and are back-stabbers. Many today have left the church because of one bad experience or the other from a fellow Christian. Many have vowed not to render anymore help because of what someone did, or a couple of people did to them in church. It is true that nothing is as painful as the wound inflicted by a friend. This is why when the devil wants to deal a very bad blow on you, he looks for a Christian as a channel. He knows that will hit you below the belt and the possibility of taking a rash decision is very high. Don’t fall for the devil’s schemes.

Yes, the wound from a brother hurts so badly. But in spite of how bad it hurts, do not be weary in well doing. Don’t use that occasion to take a rash decision. Like my wife, Bishop Peace Okonkwo says when such things happen, “put it under the blood and move forward.” The blood of Jesus is so powerful that it will not just cover the hurt, but clean it out. So when you are hurt, run to the cross.

“Brother Mike, you don’t know how badly it hurts…” Let me ask you this, how badly was Jesus hurt when He walked the path to Calvary just for your sin? Are you aware that if you were the only sinner, Jesus would still have paid the price? God loves you so much. In spite of your errors and shortcomings, He still forgives you. If God can forgive, who are you not to forgive? ‘I will forgive but I won’t forget.’ Is that your thought? Let me ask you this, if Jesus were to recall your sin, can you stand? If your answer is no, then you have no right to hold your brother or sister down. Yes, it hurts. Yes, it is very painful, but don’t let that hurt shut you out of God’s blessings.
