TOPIC: Have A Joyful, Confident Expectation (TREM Devotional 26 September 2026)
The hope of the righteous shall be gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish. – Proverbs 10:28 (KJV)
MESSAGE
What joyful, confident expectation are you holding on to? What do you anticipate for your life? The reason these questions matter is that what you expect often determines what you experience. The wise man declares, “The hope of the righteous shall be gladness.”
In other words, no matter the trials or challenges the righteous face, their confident expectation is that everything will ultimately work out for good. Their hope brings joy because it is anchored in God’s promises.
The book of Proverbs 23:18 reinforces this truth: “For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off.” Glory to God! This is profound. There is a guaranteed outcome. The trials of today and the pressures of this season are temporary, they will end.
Challenges cannot prevent the fulfillment of your hope. You will see the end of every difficulty. Your expectation is secure, and what you are anticipating will come to pass.
Be assured that we are already approaching the end. Light is shining at the end of the tunnel. As a righteous one, you are not permitted to anticipate anything negative. It is not part of your nature or character to expect failure or disappointment.
Your expectation shall not be cut off. Stand in the power of God, not the wisdom of men, because human understanding is fleeting. The calculations, postulations, and strategies of man will collapse, like a house built on sand.
Whatever man has built is temporary, but God’s work is eternal. Therefore, place your joyful, confident expectation in what only God can accomplish. Trust Him, for His promises never fail.
