“And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.” – Matthew 24:12 (KJV)

One of the prophetic signs of the end time is that the love of many shall wax cold. That means the fervency and the intensity with which some started serving God will begin to go down. The fire will no more be there in their eyes and their shoulders will no more be squared. The commitment will begin to wane and they give all kinds of excuses why that is happening.

Our text says the love of many shall wax cold. Today, you call people for service and they sit at home, not because there is any serious reason to do so. If something is important to you, as your life and your breath and you know that you need it to survive; no matter what stands in your way, you will go for it. A lot of things are important but your commitment to them is very important. God is speaking every day all around us. He is speaking through events and circumstances, yet many are not sensitive enough to decipher what He is saying.

There is no magic about these things. It is not rocket science. It is either you are in the Word or outside the Word. He says the love of many shall wax cold. For instance, if you put a candle into the fire, it will melt and because it is fluid, it moves. In other words, for you not to wax cold, you must be on the move for the Lord. When a candle waxes cold, it congeals and stays in a place. When a person gets to this level; even if God Himself comes to preach, it doesn’t move him.

The Bible says in Matthew 24:13, “But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.” He didn’t say he that started the race. Many will start the race, but unfortunately, they will not end. They allow their love to wax cold and they turn their back when they are already close to the end of the race.
