“Then the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, in the province of Babylon.” Daniel 4:30 (KJV)

To emerge means to move out of or away from something and become visible. It also means to arise, come out, appear, come into view, become visible, make an appearance, turn up, materialize, manifest oneself, proceed, come forth and emanate. The first step to emergence is to know who you are. Like I have often said, you cannot emerge to your full potentials in God until you first and foremost know who you are. Ignorance of who you are would make the enemy short-change you. Until you begin to see yourself as you truly are, you cannot function the way God intends that you function.

The scriptures tell us that: as slaves, the three Hebrew boys Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego emerged to become rulers. They refused to bow to the image set up by King Nebuchadnezzar because they knew who they were. Don’t forget that they were prisoners of war in a foreign land, yet they stood their ground. They were not intimidated. Why? They knew who they were, and they also knew their God. The Hebrew boys refused to be intimidated by the king’s fury. They refused to give attention to the burning furnace. Their minds were made up and they chose to stand up for what they believed.

The call to emerge is not a cliché or slogan. It is a demand for you to shine in this dark and perverse world. Always remember that the Word of God says that you are the light of the world and the salt of the earth. In other words, wherever you find yourself, let people know you are a world changer. Let people see the kingdom alternative. The book of Daniel 1:8 says ‘’But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat nor with the wine that he drank.” The young man purposed in his heart. In other words, he took a quality decision to be different. That is what the believer is called to do.
