“Cast not away, therefore, your confidence, which has great recompense of reward.” – Hebrews 10:35 (KJV)
I found out that one of the things that hinder us from receiving what God has ordained for us is our inability to hold fast our confidence to the end. Hebrews 3:14 says, “For we are made partakers of Christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast unto the end.”
Now the word Christ means the Anointed One and His anointing and we are partakers of His anointing. The anointing is the burden-removing and yoke-destroying power of God. It destroys yokes and loses fetters. So, if you must partake of this burden-removing and yoke-destroying power of God, you need to hold fast your confidence to the end. If the Bible says that we should hold our confidence to the end, it suggests that there are things that will come against you that will want to make you let go of the faith.
Hebrews 10:35-36 says, “Cast not away, therefore, your confidence, which hath great recompense of reward. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise” (KJV). That means there is a possibility of you casting away your confidence. Things will come against you. For instance, you are believing God for a breakthrough, open doors and healing. After you have prayed, the enemy introduces some doubt and pressures you from all sides. He brings anxiety, and the symptoms increase. Your debtors disappear. The landlord mounts pressure. The enemy gives you reasons to cast away your confidence.
As believers, we glory in tribulation. Why do we glory in tribulation? Because there is something we know. Tribulation is not just in vain. It produces patience in our lives. Patience is a strength of character. Romans 5:3-4 says: “We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance and endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation” (NLT). I declare that your confidence in God will produce testimonies in your life in Jesus Name.
