Memorise: “And he left all that he had in Joseph’s hand; and he knew not ought he had, save the bread which he did eat. And Joseph was a goodly person, and well favoured.” – Genesis 39:6

Read: Genesis 39:3-6

3 And his master saw that the LORD was with him, and that the LORD made all that he did to prosper in his hand.

4 And Joseph found grace in his sight, and he served him: and he made him overseer over his house, and all that he had he put into his hand.

5 And it came to pass from the time that he had made him overseer in his house, and over all that he had, that the LORD blessed the Egyptian’s house for Joseph’s sake; and the blessing of the LORD was upon all that he had in the house, and in the field.

6 And he left all that he had in Joseph’s hand; and he knew not ought he had, save the bread which he did eat. And Joseph was a goodly person, and well favoured.

Bible In One Year: 1 Chronicles 8-10, John 8:37-59

MESSAGE:

You should understand from today’s Bible reading that if God is with you, men will entrust you with critical assignments and even entrust their lives into your hands. One factor that can distinguish you from the crowd is trustworthiness. To what extent can people trust you? If you are not trustworthy, it shows you do not carry God’s prescence, because if you did, God’s presence will push you into doing the right thing. Some people can’t be confided in. Some people can’t be left with the financial collection of a group. If given, they will end up spending the money and returning stories.

The truth is, if you score low on the scale of worthiness, you will find it difficult to attract appointments and opportunities. The world is looking for those can trusted. This quality is needed in every facet of life and relationship with parents, siblings and friends. Any relationship that lacks trust may soon have unpleasant experiences. When men realise that you are trustworthy, they will commit much into your hands, with that, you will never be overlooked for promotion.

Key Point:
If you are a carrier of God’s presence, people will trust and commit to you important and relevant things.

Hymn 2:

1 When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word,
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will,
He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.

Chorus:
Trust and obey, for theres no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.

2 Not a shadow can rise, not a cloud in the skies,
But His smile quickly drives it away;
Not a doubt or a fear, not a sigh or a tear,
Can abide while we trust and obey.

3 Not a burden we bear, not a sorrow we share,
But our toil He doth richly repay;
Not a grief or a loss, not a frown or a cross,
But is blessed if we trust and obey.

4 But we never can prove the delights of His love
Until all on the altar we lay;
For the favor He shows, for the joy He bestows,
Are for them who will trust and obey.

5 Then in fellowship sweet we will sit at His feet,
Or we’ll walk by His side in the way;
What He says we will do, where He sends we will go;
Never fear, only trust and obey.
