Memorise: “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” – Philippians 4:13
Read: Isaiah 43:1-4
1 But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.
2 When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.
3 For I am the LORD thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour: I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee.
4 Since thou wast precious in my sight, thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee: therefore will I give men for thee, and people for thy life.
Bible In One Year: 2 Corinthians 13
MESSAGE:
After God created man, He looked at everything He had made and said that it was good.
The truth is, sometimes we underestimate ourselves because we don’t know who we are. When a son does not know his position in a home, he will serve the servants of that house, but the day he knows who he truly is, he will take charge as the young master of the house. It is knowledge of who you are in Christ that can liberate you from the “I can’t” syndrome.
The “I can’t” syndrome is as a result of low self esteem. Moses in Numbers 13 sent out spies to Canaan. Out of the twelve spies that were sent to Canaan, ten of them had the “I can’t” syndrome, but the remaining two; Joshua and Caleb, saw victory. Those who underestimated themselves died without entering the land, while those who did not underestimate themselves conquered the land and enjoyed its benefits.
Now, I want you to get a mirror or go to a mirror around you, look at yourself in the mirror and say “I CAN” because God is on my side.
Key Point:
Don’t ever look down on yourself, because you can do ALL things
Hymn 9:
1 I am so glad that our Father in heaven
Tells of His love in the book He has given;
Wonderful things in the Bible I see;
This is the dearest, that Jesus loves me.
Chorus
I am so glad that Jesus loves me,
Jesus loves me, Jesus love me;
I am so glad that Jesus loves me,
Jesus loves even me.
2 Though I forget Him and wander away,
Still He doth love me whenever I stray;
Back to His dear loving arms would I flee,
When I remember that Jesus loves me.
3 Oh, if there’s only one song I can sing,
When in His beauty I see the great King,
This shall my song in eternity be,
“Oh, what a wonder that Jesus loves me.”
