Memorise: “And if a stranger sojourn with thee in your land, ye shall not vex him.” – Leviticus 19:33

Read: 1 John 4:7-8

7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.

8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

Bible In One Year: Isaiah 10-12, Galatians 5

MESSAGE:

Most of the problems faced in the world today are due to intolerance. This intolerance is basically on two levels; culture and religion. Some persons find it difficult to tolerate a people of different culture or tribe, mostly because they feel superior to that tribe. Various sects have also risen up to fight the other religions because of differences in beliefs and ideologies. Sometimes, even within a particular religion, there are disagreements and fights due to differences in doctrines. This shouldn’t be.

Tolerance is the ability to peacefully co- exist with people that are different from you. Have you been classifying people of certain tribes or religions as inferior to you? Then you need to upgrade your tolerance level. The fact that someone has a different opinion lifestyle or colour from yours does not exempt him from the people that Jesus commanded you to love in Mark 12:31. In fact, loving them will make it easier to bring them to Christ. We may be all different, but one God made us all.

Key Point:

Tolerance is a virtue to be desired and expected of every child of God

Hymn 13:

1 Is your life a channel of blessing?
Is the love of God flowing through you?
Are you telling the lost of the Savior?
Are you ready His service to do?

Chorus:
Make me a channel of blessing today,
Make me a channel of blessing, I pray;
My life possessing, my service blessing,
Make me a channel of blessing today.

2 Is your life a channel of blessing?
Are you burdened for those that are lost?
Have you urged upon those who are straying
The Savior who does on the cross

3 Is your life a channel of blessing?
Is it a daily telling for Him?
Have you spoken the word of salvation?
To those who are dying in sin?

4 We cannot be channels of blessing
If our lives are not free from sin;
We will barriers be and a hindrance
To those we are trying to win.
