Peoples Democratic Party Members in Lokoja Local Government have been asked to see Capt. Idris Wada as the candidate of choice in the forth-coming governorship primaries of the party. Kogi State Deputy Governor, Yomi Awoniyi, made the call in continuation of his meet the party executives and critical stakeholders tour in the West Senatorial District ahead of the forth-coming PDP primaries.

Awoniyi charged members of the party in the area to see another term for the Governor as one that will enable him finish the good works he has started in Lokoja Lokoja Local Government. While Awoniyi acknowledge that there is more work to be done in Lokoja, he disclosed that the present administration has also placed priority in the development of critical infrastructure that will provide employment and boost the socio – economic development of the area.

Awoniyi listed the on – going development of the Felele Trailer Park, the Remodeling of Kogi Hotels, the on – going drainage on the welcome to Lokoja to New – Market road, the Housing Estate in Ganaja and Crusher, and several others as some efforts of government in the area, appealed to the people to be patient as government is aware of the hardship the poor state of the road has caused them, but assured that aside the on – going work on the major road in the state capital, palliative repair work he added would soon been on the road.

Awoniyi, tasked appointee’s of government from the area to constantly hold meetings and to also disseminate information about government activities to the people at the grassroots, maintaining that the expected bailout from the federal government would in the next few weeks address problems of salaries of workers and teachers across the State.

While he urged the members to seek for genuine reconciliation, Awoniyi, described Capt Idris Wada as a selfless leader who has made sacrifice his words in piloting the affairs of the State.

In their separate remarks, Hon. Ranti Sam Abenemi, Deputy State Chairman of Party and Alhaji Yabagi Bologi, Commissioner for Commerce and Industry said the PDP is going through a process of
re-engineering, towards meeting the yearning of the people. While the acknowledged that the government is not unaware of the plight of the people, called on members to show renewed commitment as the party is poised to win the next governorship election.

Other speakers at the meeting who included Hajia Maimuna Umar, Abubakar Idris, Mohammed Ali, Hon Idris Lokoja and Sule Toba Ibrahim, who spoke on behalf of women, youth and other interest all pledged their commitment to the success of the party in the forth – coming governorship election.
