Topic: Arise, Shine [Monday, 5th Dec. 2016]

Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee. Isaiah 60:1

The bearer of light in darkness has a responsibility to shine the light always, if not he risks putting both himself and those who rely on the light in darkness. Darkness is never a good thing. That is why as people whom the glory of God has shone on, we must arise and shine forth in this dark world. Darkness can only be eliminated with light. And if we want a better world and a better people, we must arise to the responsibility of making the world brighter.

Most folks would rather complain and murmur about what is going on around the world, but we must “do all things without murmurings…in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world” (Phillipians 2:14-15). Instead of murmuring, arise and show the right pathway to the people. Be the light that people will gravitate towards.

Of what use is a lamp to a house when it is put under a bushel? It will not give light to the house and it will be useless. It is only when it is put on a lamp stand that it will be useful. It is only when you arise and shine that “the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising” (Isaiah 60:1). The world is in desperate need of your light. Arise and take responsibility to shine your light, bringing out the glory, beauty and goodness of God so the world can see and follow, as you lead them to Jesus.

Keep winning daily.

Prayer:

Dear Lord, thank You for making me a useful light. By the working of Your Spirit in me, I will keep my light shining, showing the world the right way to live a fulfilled life, as I lead them to You, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
