Topic: Ark – Jesus [21/8/2016]

Text: Genesis 6:10-17

In the days of Noah, just like in our days now, men resorted to evil deeds, and were cut off from the life of God. God saw that men loved darkness instead light. So God sent His judgment on the earth – a flood. A flood that would ultimately wipe out those who loved evil, rather than God. But, He told Noah to build an ark, that will serve as a temporary lifesaver for Noah and his family. But, this move was not God’s ultimate, because man did not need a temporary lifesaver but an eternal life giver.

The ark in Noah’s days was for condemnation. It condemned those who were not in the ark to a fatal death. But Jesus has come, not to condemn the world, but that through Him the world might be saved (John 3:17). Noah’s ark had limited space to accommodate people, that even if the world were to turn from her evil ways at the last minute, it couldn’t contain everybody. But Jesus has room to accommodate the whole world, because He died for the whole world (1 John 2:2).

Noah’s ark shut out its door to the world and condemned them to death. But Jesus’ door is always wide open, calling out to the world in love, to give them life (John 3:16). Noah’s ark was a lifesaver for a brief moment. It lasted for only 11months and six days. But the life that Jesus gives last for eternity. Wouldn’t you rather be in Jesus? Today, He is still calling on the world to come unto Him so He can give them eternal life. Why not accept His invitation today?

Keep winning daily.

Wise Action:
If you are reading this and you have not received Jesus as Lord and Saviour. Ask Jesus to come into your heart. If you have, pray and reach out to those who have not, that they will also accept Jesus as Lord and Saviour.
