Topic: Keep Your Focus [8/5/2016]
Text Phillipians 3:10-14

One of the many qualities of Jesus’ personality when He was on earth was His ability to keep His focus on what He was on earth for. He was able to, at all times, make the right choices, even when faced with other seemingly alluring options. One time, in John 4, He chose the option of preaching to a woman, giving her eternal life in the process, instead of following His disciples to go get food at the town to eat. He focused on the task at hand.

Apostle Paul emphatically said in Phillipians 3:13 (TLB) “… I am still not all I should be, but I am bringing all my energies to bear on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead.” Just like these men, we must keep our focus on the one thing committed unto us by God. We must channel all our energy, resources and time to the fulfillment of our God-given purpose.

We must not loose sight of the mark, our eyes must be single so that our body can be full of light (conserved energy and resources), because when we are distracted, we loose valuable energy, resources and time. Shun everything that will distract you from fulfilling God’s mandate for your life. Like Apostle Paul, count the things fighting for your attention as dung, so you can remain focus on the task ahead.

Keep winning daily.

Prayer:
Dear Father, thank You for choosing me and anointing me to fulfill Your mandate. By the working of Your Spirit in me, I remain and maintain my focus on the path You have carved out for me and I fulfill it, in Jesus name. Amen.
