Topic: Take God’s Love To The Poor [8/4/2016]
Text: James 1:27
Some time ago, I came across a picture on facebook. A woman suffering from malnutrition was resting against a wall, with a big Bible by her side. If that picture was taken in real time and not a photoshop picture, it was obvious that the woman had no strength to read the Bible because she, going by the picture, might not have eaten in days.
God expect that we take the good news of Christ to everyone, including those that are improvised, but we must be sympathetic to their plight. Even as we give them of the bread of life, let us take care of their physical needs. Jesus employed this strategy when He fed the five thousand in Matthew 14:15-21. There are a lot of needy people in our towns, cities and Nations, who are in need of salvation and basic amenities. Let’s go show them God’s love.
Maybe you feel you can’t do it alone, you can partner with evangelical and missionary groups. You could call together your friends. You could use the organization that you are part of. There are different tools readily handy to be used to show the needy God’s love and salvation. Remember, Jesus said in Matthew 25:40, “Inasmuch as ye have done it (good) unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.”

Seek out the at least one needy this weekend and meet his/her needs physically and spiritually.
