Topic: Give Him The Glory [Monday, 17th Oct 2016]

And I will say to my soul, soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. (Luke 12:19)

Our God is Omnipotent, the all-knowing God, and Our Deliverer. His works are great. He is a God Who is arrayed in strength. Our total  dependence is on Him and without Him we would never exist, because “all things were made by Him; and without Him was not any thing made that was made” (John 1:3).

If in all of his Glory and majesty we do not regard His works and operations in and through us, If we think all that we’ve attained was by ourselves, then, that is pure foolishness, which might just incur His wrath. Psalms 28:5 says: “because they regard not the works of the LORD, nor the operation of his hands, he shall destroy them, and not build them up.” This is just like the rich fool in our text, whose soul was required of him because he failed to acknowledge God. It has dawned on me that many of us are found in this category. We attribute all our successes to ourselves, forgetting that without Him we can do nothing (John 15:5).

Are you been found wanting in showering encomium on yourself instead of directing it to God? Are your past glories to God’s credit or yours? Now is the time to make amends and return God’s glory to Him. Now is the time to regard all His works in your life. In John 3:27, John the Baptist said: “a man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven.” Give God the glory that is due to Him.

Keep winning daily.

Wise Action:
Dear Lord, I repent today, in any way I have failed to acknowledge You in all You have done in and through me. I give You all the glory for Your wondrous work. Keep working in me to produce Your glory to the praise of Your name, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
