Topic: Leave Your Legacy [19/6/2016]
Text: Luke 10:19

The hallmark of a great leader is his ability to put to use all the resources, especially human resources, available to him to achieve set out goals. The leader of a team is not the master of all learning. He is not required to be “jack of all trade”. He only needs to glean all the talents and giftings available to him in his team members, workers, players, etc and hit set goals.

There is joy in the heart of every leader when he sees his team members, workers, players, etc, excelling on the platform he has created. The greatest leader of all time – Jesus, said: “behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you” (Luke 10:19). Jesus was telling His team players that ‘I am giving you the platform to use to be maximize the gifts in you and prosper in them. Nothing will ever stop your success.’

Jesus went further to say: ‘I am leaving the scene now. I want you guys to do more than I have done. Be greater than me. I have no problem with that.’ (John 14:12). As a leader, create the platform for your team players to thrive. Build your team players. Equip them with the capacity to do great things, that even when you’ve left the scene, your legacy will live on. When the disciples of Jesus started exhibiting what Jesus had taught them, people knew they could only have had Jesus has their leader (Acts 4:13). Now, that’s legacy. Leave your legacy as a leader.

Keep winning daily.

Prayer:
Dear Lord, thank You for the privilege of being a leader. I take advantage of my leadership position to build and create the platform for my team members and subordinates to thrive. I pray that my team members express the giftings in them to the fullest, achieving great things for the team and as individuals, in Jesus name. Amen.
