Winning Wisdom
Topic:The need for Patience. [20/2/2016]
Text:Hebrews 10:36.

In Athletics, there are the sprint races and there are the long distant races in which the marathon race falls into. The sprint races requires seconds to conclude, while the long distant races takes longer time, even hours, especially the marathon, to finish and this requires lots of patience and stamina, and it takes determination to win.

As Christians, we are in the category of the latter, we are in a spiritual marathon that requires patience and stamina. Often times, God allows us to go through the wilderness in order to learn patience and build stamina. Why? Because it is a vital requirement for spiritual growth (Romans 5:3-4) and we need spiritual maturity to handle the affairs of His kingdom.

Hebrews 12:1 emphasizes the need for patience in the race that is set before us. It helps keep our focus on Jesus and makes us perfect, whole, lacking nothing (James 1:4). To be patience is not the absence of God in our times of trials, but it is God’s way of exercising our spiritual muscles and stamina for the journey ahead.

So count it all joy when you fall into diverse trials and keep winning always.

Prayers:

Dear God, thank You for my trying times, knowing that You are with me always building my muscles and increasing my capacity with the work of patience. I am coming out stronger than I was, in Jesus name, amen.
