Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal – The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity. 2 Timothy 2:19
I saw a movie titled “Goddess”. It was about a woman with an amazing voice who was offered an opportunity by a record label to be a star, after her musical prowess went viral on the internet. She had to compromise her conservative standard as a house wife to go naked in the music video that was shot because she wanted fame and public appraisal. She later realized the degree of damage she had caused her family, though; she gave up her fame and retraced her steps.
This could be any of us. No matter the lure for fame and wealth, we must not compromise our godly standards. We should not support whatever opposes God’s standard. “Let everyone that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity” (2 Timothy 2:19). Don’t allow the pride of life, which might come in the form of fame and wealth make you compromise your Christian virtues.
Scriptures say in 1 Thessalonians 5:22, that we should “abstain from all appearance of evil.” Probably you are in a compromising situation right now, it is not too late to come out of it, like the lady in “Goddess”. The thing about such situations is that it will take you far away from God, which you should never allow to ever happen in your life. Be courageous – you need to be, and come out from every compromising situation. God’s loving arms is waiting to hold you again in an embrace.

Prayer:
Dear Lord, I commit my heart unto You. Help me to turn away from any situation that will lead me into compromising our standards. Give me the courage, to always say no to the lure of compromising fame and wealth, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
