Topic: A New Covenant [30/3/2016]
Text: Hebrews 8:6-13
A covenant is an agreement, a binding pact between two of more people usually sealed legally. God is a God of covenant. From the inception of the world, He has always enacted covenants with men. From Adam to Noah, from Abraham to the children of Israel, God’s covenant with man has been in full swing.
God established a covenant with us. That is one of the main reasons for Jesus coming and dying, to establish a covenant of eternal inheritance with us. Scriptures says in Hebrews 9:15 “and for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.”
Everyone who looks unto Jesus as Lord and Saviour have come into this covenant. They have a promise of eternal inheritance of life and peace with God, because God is going to be our God and we all shall be His people (Hebrews 8:10). This is amazing. This covenant has made us heir to all that is God’s. Maybe someone is reading this and have not yet come into this covenant, you can do that now by accepting Jesus as Lord and Saviour. That’s all you need to bring you into this new and sure covenant of eternal inheritance.

Dear Father, thank You for bringing me into this new covenant of eternal inheritance, by the death of Jesus Christ. All that is in the covenant is mine and they are evident in my life, in Jesus name. Amen.
