In this act we see what real love is: it is not our love for God but his love for us when he sent his Son to satisfy God’s anger against our sins. 1 John 4:10 TLB
Our love for God is never enough and will never be enough. There is no way we can actually express love to God the way we should. We will always fall short of His lofty standard. But we have an assurance in the love of the Father. God’s love is perfect and He loves perfectly. We can always rest in the perfect love of God, because His love never fails.
The beautiful thing about God’s love is that He doesn’t count any wrong. In His love, He has satisfied all His anger against our sins on Jesus Christ (1 John 4:10). He is no longer angry with you and me. Jesus was and is still the recipient of God’s anger for our sins – His sacrifice still subsist. This is why we can rest in His perfect love. His love not only covers a multitude of sin, His love brings the offender back in fellowship with Him.
How wonderful it feels to be loved perfectly by a perfect God, Who striped Himself of all grandeur and heavenly glory, “but made Himself of no reputation, and took upon Him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men” (Philippians 2:7), all in a bid to pay the sacrifice for sin. Isn’t that a love worth celebrating? God’s love is a love we can always have confidence in. Rest in His love and receive the comfort of His love.

Dear Father God, thank You for Your unflinching love. A love that I can put my confidence and rest in always. A love that looks beyond my faults and loves me perfectly. I rejoice in and celebrate Your love always, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
