Topic: The Woman and Her Home (3)

Dear Reader,

Happy New Month! As this second quarter of the year begins, new doors of favours and breakthroughs will be opened to you and your family! From the teachings of last month, I believe you have impactfully learnt how to be a productive woman and a creative homemaker. In this edition, however, I will be exploring on The Influence of a Woman.

God has blessed women with diverse abilities which are not limited to making and sustaining a home, but to being joyful mothers of children. Motherhood is a joyful experience. No profession is more valuable, needed, or fulfilling, like that of being a mother. Mothers have a lot of influence over their children and their impression on them will always last a lifetime.

Timothy became one of the most respected Bishops in the New Testament because of the great influence of his mother and grand-mother, Eunice and Lois. The Bible says: When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also (2 Timothy 1:5). Timothy was such a godly child, that he had good reports and testimonies from the brethren. To this effect, Paul would have him as a companion (Acts 16:1-3). God is looking for more Timothys. In this sinful and adulterous generation, may you be able to raise godly seeds like Timothy, who will fulfill their destinies in God!

Femininity is one vital attribute of a woman that makes her tender. Every child needs the feminine touch to be well nurtured. God specially designed the woman to be tender in nature, which no man is capable of. So, your children need your “tenderness” to be well brought up. This feminine nature is not to be used negatively but for the raising of godly children. The womb and breasts are two special attributes which link women to their children. Children are nurtured in their mothers’ wombs, and fed from their breasts. This is an advantage and privilege of motherhood that fathers don’t have.

Mothers, you have a great advantage and influence over your children. So, you must learn to use your feminine nature to make a change in their lives. Mothers, whose children are problematic need to make use of these special features as a point of contact in praying for them; wherever that child may be, you can call his or her name, put your hand on your womb or breasts, make your declarations and establish them on God’s infallible Word, and it works!

It is important that as a mother, you create time to order and shape the destinies of your children. Do not leave them at the mercy of circumstance and situations. Don’t allow them to learn what you ought to teach them from friends, television and society who might give them wrong counsel. The Bible recorded that from a tender age, Timothy was taught the scriptures. You can teach your children the ways of God, and when they are old they will never depart from it (Proverbs 6:22).

In a bid to make it in business or career, some mothers have neglected their God-given role in the home. They are too busy making money. They leave their homes early in the morning and return late at night, particularly those in the cities. They keep busy trying to make ends meet financially. I believe one of the reasons the efforts of such parents sometimes yield poor results is because they have neglected the primary responsibility of nurturing their children.

Some mothers, in a bid to have more time for their business concerns and other personal things send their children to boarding schools. This is not to say that sending your children to boarding schools is wrong, but if the motive behind sending them there is to shift responsibility, then it is wrong, no matter the type of boarding school they go. You should see your children as blessings from the Lord (Psalm 127:3). That way, you will not fail in Jesus’ name!

The grace to be able to influence your children positively is available to every believer. To be a believer, you must first be born again. This begins by confessing your sins and accepting Jesus as your Saviour and Lord. If you are ready for this new birth experience, please say this prayer in faith: Dear Lord Jesus Christ, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me my sins and cleanse me with Your Blood. I accept You as my Lord and personal Saviour. Make me a child of God today. Thank You for delivering me from sin and satan to serve the living God and thank You for accepting me into Your Kingdom.

Congratulations! If you prayed this simple prayer of faith with me, you are now born again and a child of God. He loves you and will never leave you. Read your Bible daily, obey God’s Word and seek Christian fellowship (John 14:21).

With this, you are guaranteed all-round rest and peace in Jesus’ name! Call or write to share your testimonies with me through contact@faithoyedepo.org, 07026385437 OR 08141320204.
