The Delta State Police Command has recovered 7,365 Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs) which were carted away by gunmen who invaded the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Oghara, Ethiope West Local Government Area recently.

About two weeks ago, it was reported that gunmen invaded the INEC office, and stole the PVCs and some registers.

The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Celestisna Kalu, said that the stolen PVCs have been recovered and a total of 7,365 cards were seen.”

Kalu said, the police “arrested one Aputu (46) of Oji Aputu Compound, Onyobulu Inland Market Road, Oghara and recovered one of the stolen INEC registers from him.

She said investigation was ongoing while efforts were being made to ensure that all those involved in the crime were arrested. She said the PVCs have since been handed over to INEC.
