TOPIC: Leverage On The Mercy Of God (TREM Devotional 7 November 2025)

“But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us.” – Ephesians 2:4 (KJV)

MESSAGE

Beloved, many people misunderstand the mercy of God. They often view it only from a negative standpoint – something to run to after they have done wrong. They think, “I’ve messed up, so let me ask for God’s mercy,” as though mercy merely forces God to forgive and overlook sin. But mercy is far greater than that!

The mercy of God is not a reaction to our faults, it is an expression of His nature. Mercy is God revealing His goodness and loving-kindness to us. That’s who He is. Our God is rich in mercy because He loves us deeply and endlessly.

It is the loving-kindness of God that releases and deploys His mercy, even when we don’t deserve it. We enjoy mercy because of His unfailing love.

The Bible says, “God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him” (1 John 4:16 KJV).

Love never fails! And because God’s love for you never fails, His mercy toward you will never cease. Love is patient. Love is kind. Love does not keep a record of wrongs. That is who God is, He is love, and He is not withholding anything good from you. He wants you blessed. He wants you to experience total turnaround in every area of your life.

The mercy of God flows from the heart of His love. When Adam failed in the Garden of Eden, it was not Adam who went looking for God, it was God who came looking for Adam. Though Adam had blown it, mercy found him. What Adam deserved was judgment, but what he received was restoration through divine mercy.

Beloved, no matter where you are today, the mercy of God will locate you. No matter your challenge, no matter your mistakes or how far you’ve gone, His mercy will reach out and lift you. God will not abandon you. He will not forsake you. The same God who extended mercy to Adam is still rich in mercy toward you today.

So, instead of dwelling on your shortcomings, leverage on the mercy of God. It’s your access to divine help, restoration, and favour.
