TOPIC: Trust In The Lord

READ: Psalm 125:1-5 (KJV)

1 They that trust in the Lord shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever.

2 As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the Lord is round about his people from henceforth even for ever.

3 For the rod of the wicked shall not rest upon the lot of the righteous; lest the righteous put forth their hands unto iniquity.

4 Do good, O Lord, unto those that be good, and to them that are upright in their hearts.

5 As for such as turn aside unto their crooked ways, the Lord shall lead them forth with the workers of iniquity: but peace shall be upon Israel.

THE MESSAGE:

Our text tells us that those who trust in God are stable and are protected by Him eternally. The authority of evil men shall not rule over those who are in right standing with God. The Psalmist asks God to grant favour to the upright, but to disqualify those who live in sin.

Christians put their trust in the Lord. However, there are people who put their trust in idols, money, occultic powers, native doctors, etc. Are you one of them? The LORD assures us that we are preserved from the rod of the wicked. Although the wicked may seem to have the upper hand, yet this will not be for long. There is an end to whatever we are presently facing in the hands of the wicked, provided we continue to trust in God and not waiver.

The LORD is a defence to the righteous. The righteous will not be stretched beyond what they can handle. Surely there is an end to the oppression of the wicked. Are you beginning to consider the path of compromise because of the overwhelming oppression of the wicked? Don’t! The LORD is simply working out in you what will abide forever. Trust Him, you will realise that all things work for your good.

PRAYER: Father, please help me to trust in You in the face of all adversity.
