BIBLE READING: Psalm 126:5-6

5 They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.

6 He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.

MESSAGE:

Like farming, life operates in seasons. There is a season for planting seeds and a season for reaping the harvest. As the son of a farmer, I know that no farmer will plant a seed today and expect fruit tomorrow. There’s always a waiting period between planting and harvesting.

I recall when I was a coach at a secondary school. I trained athletes rigorously, especially when preparing them for major competitions. They would grumble about the early morning workouts, strict diets, and constant discipline, which often left them exhausted. Whenever competitions came around and they emerged victorious, everyone rejoiced, realising that all the sacrifices had been worth it.

My dear child, when you patiently plant your seeds whether in your studies, spiritual growth, or relationships they will produce a harvest in due season. Today’s Bible reading reassures us that even when we sow in tears, we will reap joyfully. Continue to work hard in school, show kindness to others, and remain faithful in prayer. Rest assured, your diligence will pay off eventually.

KEY POINT:
There is a season to plant and a season to reap the harvest of the seeds you have sown.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
Mark 16, Deuteronomy 28-30

HYMNAL 19: Be Glad In The Lord And Rejoice

1 Be glad in the Lord and rejoice,
All ye that are upright in heart;
And ye that have made him your choice,
Bid sadness and sorrow depart.

Refrain:
Rejoice, rejoice! Be glad in the Lord and rejoice!

2 What though in the conflict for right
Your enemies almost prevail,
God’s armies, just hid from your sight,
Are more than the foes which assail.
3 Though darkness surround you by day,
Your sky by the night be o’ercast,
Let nothing your spirit dismay,
But trust till the danger is past.
4 Be glad in the Lord and rejoice,
His praises proclaiming in song;
Acclaim him with trumpet and voice,
The loud hallelujahs prolong.
