TOPIC – The Danger Of Taking God’s Glory (2) (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Devotional 9 May 2026)

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Psalm 115:1-18 (KJV)
1 Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truth’s sake.
2 Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is now their God?
3 But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased.
4 Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands.
5 They have mouths, but they speak not: eyes have they, but they see not:
6 They have ears, but they hear not: noses have they, but they smell not:
7 They have hands, but they handle not: feet have they, but they walk not: neither speak they through their throat.
8 They that make them are like unto them; so is every one that trusteth in them.
9 O Israel, trust thou in the Lord: he is their help and their shield.
10 O house of Aaron, trust in the Lord: he is their help and their shield.
11 Ye that fear the Lord, trust in the Lord: he is their help and their shield.
12 The Lord hath been mindful of us: he will bless us; he will bless the house of Israel; he will bless the house of Aaron.

MFM Devotional For Today 2026 MESSAGE:
Human beings are, by nature, filled with pride. A renowned boxer said, “It is hard to be humble when you are good.” The desire to be seen, acknowledged, or even glorified is within the heart of every degenerated mind. Everyone who walks after the flesh will give glory to himself, while the man who walks after the Spirit will give all the glory to God because he understands that without God, he can do nothing.

The Bible warns us repeatedly that taking the glory that belongs to God is dangerous and offensive to Him. It is unacceptable to God. Many people in the Bible who mocked God or boasted in their powers were openly disgraced by God. It is still happening today; when men leave God out of the calculation, trusting in themselves to do anything, they end in failure and shame because they do not give God the glory and do not acknowledge His sovereignty over all.
Psalm 8:1-6 says, “O Lord our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! Who hast set thy glory above the heavens. Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger. When consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; what is man, that thou art mindful of him? And the son of man, that thou visitest him? For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour. Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet.”
PRAYER POINTS:
MORNING
- I refuse to take the glory that belongs to God, in the name of Jesus.
- Holy Spirit, teach me wisdom, in the name of Jesus.
- I shall not be puffed up, no matter my achievements, in the name of Jesus.
EVENING
- I shall never forget my source, which is God Almighty, in the name of Jesus.
- You spirit of pride, pack your load and get out of my life, in the name of Jesus.
- Father Lord, in Your mercy, draw me closer to You, in the name of Jesus.
- I pull down every stronghold of pride in my life, in the name of Jesus.
