BIBLE READING: Daniel 3:17-18
17 If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.
18 But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.
MESSAGE:
Daring to be different is not merely an action but an attitude that exudes confidence and high self-esteem. As a child of God, you must think, talk, and act differently from unbelievers. The things that matter to them should not matter to you; nothing else should matter to you other than God Himself.
The three Hebrew boys, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, in today’s Bible reading, are examples of young people who dared to be different. l am sure that it was not an easy decision to refuse the king’s Command, considering that they could see the burning furnace, yet they stood up for their faith and refused to bow to the golden image. They chose to be different, and God delivered them.
My dear child, God is always pleased with those who dare to be different so they can reflect His glory, and He rewards them accordingly. Therefore, do not compromise your faith in trying to fit in with societal norms when it comes to dressing, speech, association, actions, et cetera. Let your faithfulness to God inspire others and bring glory to Him at all times.
