OPENING PRAYER: Father, let your grace of winning at all times continue to rest on me.

PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE: The leaders should remind the members of last week’s lesson on Prepared Ahead.

MEMORY VERSE: For with God nothing shall be impossible. – Luke 1:37 3:1 (KJV)

BIBLE TEXT: Mark 5:25-29 (KJV)

25 And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years,

26 And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse,

27 When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment.

28 For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.

29 And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.

LESSON INTRODUCTION: A winner is someone who lives according to God’s principles and values. They are capable of walking in freedom and victory as stated in John 8:32 and 36. According to Genesis 1:26,27, God created us to succeed in every aspect of life – physically, spiritually, materially and beyond.

LESSON AIM: To make members understand who a winner is.

TEACHING OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, members should know:

  • Characteristics of a winner
  • How to be a winner.

TEXT REVIEW: Mark 5:25-29

  • Suffering may have been for years, but trusting God makes the difference.
  • When suffering persists, it takes away your better part and brings worse plans.
  • Your belief in God’s ability defines your state on earth.

LESSON OUTLINE ONE: CHARACTERISTICS OF A WINNER

  • A winner must have faith in Jesus Christ. Hebrews 11:6, Philippians 4:13
  • A winner is humble, recognizes their strengths and weaknesses, give glory to God for their accomplishments.
  • A winner is obedient to God’s command. John 14:15.
  • A winner must be faithful. Matthew 25:21.
  • A winner perseveres through challenges and difficulties.
  • A winner exercises patience, self-discipline, controlling their thoughts, emotions and actions to live a life that honours God. 1 Corinthians 9:27.
  • A winner loves God and others. 1 Corinthians 13:13.
  • A winner is grateful, always recognizing God’s blessings in their lives.

LESSON OUTLINE TWO: HOW TO BECOME A WINNER?

In the race of life, everybody wants to be a winner or associate with winners, because losing can be seen as a shameful experience. However, winning goes beyond just securing a prize, it involves winning the race of eternity.

  • You must join the winning team by giving your life to Christ first.
  • You must forget the past and press forward, whether in success or failure. Philippians 3:12-13.
  • You need to conform to the image of Christ.
  • You must be ready to grow and weather every storm you may go through.
  • You must be filled with the Holy Spirit.
  • Pray your way through the challenges.
  • Must be able to study his or her opponent (the Devil)
  • Maintain a positive attitude. Philippians 4:8

SUMMARY: Your belief in God’s ability defines your state on earth.

CONCLUSION: When God created man, He made him ruler over all His creatures. It is time to recognize who you are in Christ and take your position in destiny as a true winner!

WEEKLY ACTIVITY: Mention biblical characters that won the battle of life.

  1. Father, help all your children to maintain a winning attitude.
  2. Father, create in me a positive mindset to win victoriously.
  3. Father, erase every record of failure on my way to fulfilment and progress.
  4. Father, let every adversaries of Your church be frustrated.
  5. Father, make me a new optimum use instrument sharpened for Your use

GOLDEN DIET FOR THE WEEK

MONDAY: Winning comes from releasing your life to Jesus Christ.

TUESDAY: If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; old things are passed away.

WEDNESDAY: Pray against forces of unholy living.

THURSDAY: Commit the hearts of all our youth into the hand of God.

FRIDAY: Devote today to praying for the peace of nations.

SATURDAY: To win massively, sin should be eschewed permanently.

SUNDAY: You will become a carrier of a spiritual gift when you follow God wholeheartedly.
