TOPIC – Clean Slate (Open Heaven for Teens, 7 November 2026)
MEMORISE: Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. Isaiah 1:18
BIBLE READING: LAMENTATIONS 3:22-23
22 It is of the LORD’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
MESSAGE:
The lyrics of a popular song that is based on today’s Bible reading say:
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceaseth,
His mercies never come to an end,
They are new every morning,
new every morning,
Great is thy faithfulness, Oh Lord.
God’s mercy is new every morning; He gives us a fresh start daily. Sometimes we mess up and feel unworthy, but God assures us that, because of His mercies, we will not be consumed; they are new every morning.
My dear child, have you gone far from God because of disappointment, rejection, lack, et cetera? Have you given in to sin because it was the quickest and easiest way out of a problem? If your answers to these questions are YES, God wants you back so that He can cleanse you and give you a fresh start. If you made a mistake once, don’t repeat it and think that He will overlook it. All sins have consequences, but God is ready to accept you back now if you surrender to Him with the whole of your heart. God sees your heart, so go to Him to clean your slate now, and as you do, He will give you a clean slate, in Jesus’ name.
KEY POINT:
No matter how far you might have gone into sin, God is willing to accept you back and give you a clean slate.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
Mark 13:1-13; Deuteronomy 11-13

HYMN 66 – Through The Love Of God Our Saviour
1 Through the love of God our Saviour,
All will be well;
Free and changeless is His favour,
All, all is well:
Precious is the blood that healed us;
Perfect is the grace that sealed us:
Strong the hand stretched forth to shield us,
All must be well.
2 Though we pass through tribulation,
All will be well;
Ours is such a full salvation,
All, all is well:
Happy still in God confiding;
Fruitful in Christ abiding;
Holy through the Spirit’s guiding:
All must be well.
3 We expect a bright tomorrow;
All will be well;
Faith can sing through days of Sorrow,
All, all is well:
On our Father’s love relying,
Jesus every need supplying,
Or in living or in dying,
All must be well.
