Read: Revelation 20:11-15 (NKJV)
- Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them.
- And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is [the Book] of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books.
- The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works.
- Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
- And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.
MESSAGE:
Our scripture reading today reveals that there are books that shall be opened at the end of our sojourn on earth. The great and small shall stand before the throne of God and books shall be opened- books properly containing the biography of the individual human life as seen by divine eyes and recorded by divine pen. This book contains all of man’s activities- things done in the secret and things done in the open, and which shall be brought to judgment.
After this, another book shall be opened, this book is called the Book of Life and it determines man’s final state. All whose name are not found in this second Book are cast into the lake of fire, but those whose names are found in the Book of Life will enter into eternal joy – a place of rest, peace, love, abundance, joy, etc. Our work on earth determines our placement in eternity. Those whose names are found in the Book of Life are people who have made a commitment of their lives to God and are living to please Him. Have you made peace with God? Think about it.
PRAYER: Lord I thank you for saving me and writing my name in the Book of life. Help me to stand strong in you and never give up.
