Responding to fresh allegation of corruption in the Goodluck Jonathan administration by Christopher Kolade (former SURE-P chairman), Adenike Lucas, Press Secretary of the All Progressives Congress – UK Chapter, has said:

“There is now, no doubt that corruption thrived under the leadership of Dr Goodluck Jonathan. During his five and a half year rule, Nigerians saw a few enjoy the country’s wealth; at the detriment of many others.

“The effect of corruption was felt by many Nigerian who lived without basic amnesties such as clean water, electricity or without enough fuel, although their country is one of the few major producers of ‘the ‘motor spirit.’

“Evidence are beginning to emerge showing ministers who served under the outgoing President of 2015, abused the treasury and misappropriated funds from the coffers to themselves.

“Due to corrupt leaders, we see Nigerians who can’t afford basic health care but have leaders who receive the best treatment abroad for common health ailments such as a headache.

“It is welcoming to hear the president’s stance against what has denied many Nigerian citizens the opportunity to succeed and left many families in abject poverty.

“President Muhammadu Buhari‘s decision to fight this problem with every tool constitutionality available has been well received by Nigerians, by our neighbors in Ghana and the rest of the African continent.

“APC UK is pleased with the effort he has made in fighting corruption thus making Nigeria great again. We would continue to support his effort through our expertise, skills and talent, wherever necessary.
