Kogi State Government says, the on-going re-development of Kogi Hotels, aside providing accommodation for top government officials when they visit the State, when completed, will help government save scarce resources and boost its revenue base.
Kogi State Government Capt. Idris Wada stated this while carrying out routine inspection of
on-going works on the on-going redevelopment of Kogi hotels.
The governor who was represented by his Deputy, Yomi Awoniyi,
explained that when completed, the facility can host guests in the caliber of the President and other top government functionaries, their retinue of aides, thus saving government hard-earned resources.
Capt. Wada assured that the project would be completed on schedule, described it as one of the legacy projects of the present administration.
Capt. Wada described the project as one of his administration’s strategy to reduce cost, boost other sources of revenue, expressed satisfaction with the quality of work on the project.
In his remarks, Kayode Olowomoran, Commissioner for Culture and Tourism said the redevelopment of Kogi hotel is of international standard, said when completed, the facility will have rooms for guests, conference and
sporting facilities among other attraction.
The Commissioner commended the foresight of the Capt. Wada led administration towards cutting-cost and expanding the revenue base of the
government to meet present day realities.
Also speaking, the representative of the contracting firm handling the project, Mr. Timmy Yoe, said efforts will be put in place to deliver the project on schedule
