Topic: The trademark of discipline [Thursday May 14, 2015]

“Let all things be done decently and in order.” –1 Corinthians 14:40

The act of discipline affects all areas of one’s life: from punctuality, to attitude, dress sense to accountability. To be disciplined is to have self control and the willingness to take and follow orders.Chances are that if you are not disciplined, you cannot be in control of life, and never trusted to control that of others (through leadership positions, etc.)

Discipline entails you being in control of your time, character, communications, finances and relationships. These are the basic things you spend your day juggling. You should know when you need to work at something and when it’s time to let go. You should also know when it’s time to invest and what areas you should invest in.

The act of discipline is spiritual as well as physical. For instance, there is a time to fast and a time to eat. That’s why the Bible says there is time for everything, so as to ensure that all things are done orderly and with decency. Many people create their own challenges because they lack the required discipline to guide them.

Set a standard for yourself. Let others know you by those standards. Ensure that your life is strictly controlled by those standards, and above all, make sure they are godly standards. People might see you as being rigid, they might even mock you, but in the end, your results would speak for themselves. You can’t live your life the way the world does and expect to be distinguished. Make a difference today through self- discipline.

Remain Blessed!
