TOPIC: Harvest Time! Blessing Time
Bible Text: John 4:35 – “Don’t you have a saying, ‘It’s still four months until harvest’? I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest.”
Closely associated with the month of November is the idea of Harvest Thanksgiving which is globally and annually celebrated on every first Sunday of the month. The essence of this anniversary is primarily to appreciate the God of fertility. It is a time to count one’s blessings and give thanks to God who is the source of all provisions.

According to the scriptures, God is the God of time and seasons. As Solomon declares in the book of Ecclesiastes 3:1 “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity”. There is a time to plant and there is a time to harvest.
The phrase “time of harvest” is used often in the Scripture and it paints several pictures in our minds. One of the major features of Harvest Time is that it is a time of blessing. According to Joshua 3:15, all through the time of harvest, Jordan overflows all its banks. The overflowing of the river banks in this context is a symbol of fertility and of God’s overflowing blessings. The riverbanks become lush and green and things grow fast.
The implication of this is that Harvest time is a blessing time, a time of in-gathering. Harvest time is a time to reap what has already been sown. It is a time to experience divine fruitfulness and supernatural abundance. Harvest time is a season of increase and multiplication, it is a time of refreshing. It is a time to be fat and not a time to be lean. Harvest time is a time to experience surplus; a time to eat, be satisfied, and gather left-overs. During the harvest time, abundance replaces scarcity, fruitfulness replaces fruitlessness, satisfaction replaces hunger, riches replaces poverty, prosperity replaces austerity, while joy replaces sorrow. Harvest time is a time of celebration, a time to dance and rejoice.
These and many more are all I see for you this month. It’s your season of harvest, your month of abundant and overflowing blessings. It is a time to smile and laugh, a time to rejoice and a time to celebrate. It is your own time to gather wealth and honor, a time that God will reward your previous years and months of hard work and labor. I can see you entering into the realm of unhindered fruitfulness, increase and multiplication. This, and many more, shall be your experience this new month.
Beloved of God, I encourage you to cooperate with the God of harvest. Look around you and see the fields ripe for harvest. Get hold of your sickle and begin to reap the harvest of blessings. Maximize the opportunities around you and get the best of this harvest season.
PROPHETIC PRAYER
I pray for you today:
- May your month be blessed in the name of Jesus.
- The blessings of harvest will not elude you.
- He will increase your barns and make you fruitful in all you lay your hands to do.
- Your land will not be barren neither shall your womb of blessing experience miscarriage.
- This month, you will gather in excess, surplus and abundance.
So shall it be in Jesus name. Amen.
