TOPIC: Living A Fearful And Wonderful Life

BIBLE TEXT: “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” – Psalm 139:13-15

It is one thing to be fearfully and wonderfully made, it is another thing to live it out. Even though we were all fearfully and wonderfully made by God, it is obvious that not all live fearfully and wonderfully. To live fearfully is to embrace the fear of God. It means to give reverence to God, the Maker, and live in awe of His beauty and holiness. On the other hand, to live wonderfully is to experience the fullness of God. It means maximizing every opportunity to enjoy God’s available blessings and wonders.

Living fearfully and wonderfully requires some basic understanding. This begins with accepting who you are (your person) and seeing yourself the way God sees you. When a man fails to accept himself the way he’s created and refuses to see himself as God sees him, he will fail. Self-acceptance energizes us to navigate through the dark and difficult moments in life. Therefore, the value God has placed on you is the value you should place on yourself.

To live fearfully and wonderfully, you need to discover your spiritual path and start moving in it. In Ephesians 4:1, Paul beseeched believers “to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called”.Be intentional about living a life that matches who you are by the virtue of your relationship with Christ. He wants to live and relate with you permanently.

Humility and discipline are essentially important for living fearfully and wonderfully. You must be humble and disciplined. Cultivate Jesus’ attitude of humility by putting others before yourself and following through with what you start.

Another important thing is to experience community. Serve one another and stay together. According to Ephesians 4:3, you will feel more valuable when you work to add value to others’ lives and “keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace”

Putting your unique gifts to use is equally essential to living a fearful and wonderful life. According to Ephesians 4:4-6, believers in Christ are “one body” who belong to “one Lord ” and “one God and Father”. However, that doesn’t mean we’re all supposed to look, speak, and act alike. God has made you unique and given you unique gifts to influence others and add value to their lives.

Finally, keep growing in the likeness of Christ. God wants you to “grow up in all things into Him” ( Ephesians 4:15). Satisfaction with the status quo will always lead you to stagnation. Until the day you die, you have the potential to keep growing and making a difference in this world.

Beloved of God, you are fearfully and wonderfully made. Start living like it today and never stop. Do not esteem yourself lightly; do not consider yourself of low value. Instead, accept who you are, be who you are, and live who you are. This is the path to living a wholesome and fulfilled life.
