An appeal has gone to Nigerians to sustain inter religious harmony as a panacea for growth and development.

The Etsu Nupe, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, made the appeal while commissioning Alhaji Isa Kutepa Mosque and Quaranic School in Lokoja.

Alh Abubakar, commended the role and contributions of non moslems in ensuring that the Mosque and Quaranic school, said such cooperation when sustained will help the unity of th country as well as reduce religious acrimony.

The Etsu charged government and individuals to place emphasis in building places of learning and worship, said the country more than ever before needs, institutions of moral and spiritual rebirth.

Alh Abubakar, charged parents to show more than a passing concern to their children’s education and spiritual growth, said the present time demands parents commitment to the growth of their wards.

The upbringing of children, the Etsu disclosed should not be left in the hands of government alone, said it is a collective responsibility, that demands parents doing the major actor.

Alh Abubakar congratulated the donor, Alh Abdulrazaq Isa Kutepa, urged others in the society to emulate him.

Kogi State Governor, Capt Idris Wada, commended Alh Abdulrazaq Kutepa, for a partnership that will help in the moral rebirth of the youths.

Capt Wada said his administration has placed religion and education as a priority in its transformation agenda, assured that, every support to ensure the attainment of objective by the mosque will be given by his administration.

In a remarks, Alh Abdurazaq Isa Kutepa, a philanthropist, Chairman Waltersmith Pertoman, said the decision to build the mosque was to honour his father late Alh Isa Kutepa, a first generation councilor in Lokoja who died in 1986 at the age of 64.

Kutepa said the Mosque with two blocks of classrooms, and a state of the art facilities, will offer a befitting place of worship for moslems.

Highlights of the occasion was the turbaning of Imam Yahaya Lokoja as the Imam of the mosque and the commissioning of the mosque by the Etsu Nupe. There were also the recitation of quaran and public lecture on the importance of building a place of worship for God by Islamic schoolers.
