Ex-militant generals from the Niger-Delta region,have reassured the President-elect,General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd) of relative peace in the region.
The ex-militants who spoke under the platform of Niger-Delta Amnesty Leaders and Progressive Change for Buhari,at Effurun, Delta State, gave the assurance while passing confidence vote and endorsing Commander BIbi Oduku as the leader of the group in the region.
The group who spoke through their leaders, Gen. Opuye, Gen. Bullet Otuaro, Gen. Priest Ditimiwei Allah, Gen. T.O.B. Ogbemudia, Gen. Igere Thompson and Gen. Tony Sagbene, said the endorsement of Commander Oduku arose from the fact that he is the only person who through his leadership there will be relative peace in the region. [Vanguard]
