Memorise: And the hand of the LORD was on Elijah; and he girded up his loins, and ran before Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel. – 1 Kings 18:46

Read: Psalms 18:32-36

32 It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect.

33 He maketh my feet like hinds’ feet, and setteth me upon my high places.

34 He teacheth my hands to war, so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms.

35 Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy right hand hath holden me up, and thy gentleness hath made me great.

36 Thou hast enlarged my steps under me, that my feet did not slip.

Bible In One Year: Genesis 1-4

MESSAGE:

God has a purpose for your legs. They are to walk, run and dance for Him. If your legs cannot perform any of these functions, command them to arise. A popular saying goes “beautiful shows take you to beautiful places”. Where do your feet take you to? Where you go determines your destiny; it determines who you mingle with and by extension, what you become. People whose feet have taken them to book clubs, libraries, Bible studies and the likes have become great men and women today. While those whose feet have taken them to the houses of their boyfriends and girlfriends, night clubs and so on have brought shame to their family and society today.

You need to be careful of where you go. Don’t just go somewhere with someone because you are in the same class or pass the same route home. Don’t let another person’s feet take yours along with it into danger. I pray your feet would always take you to places of glory in Jesus’ name.

Key Point:

Use your legs consciously, don’t just go anywhere you feel like going. Think before you move.

Hymn 6:

1 Our God, our help in ages past,
Our hope for years to come,
Our shelter from the stormy blast,
And our eternal home:

2 Under the shadow of your throne
Your saints have dwelt secure;
Sufficient is your arm alone,
And our defense is sure

3 Before the hills in order stood
Or earth received its frame,
From everlasting you are God,
To endless years the same.

4 A thousand ages in your sight
Are like an evening gone
Short as the watch that ends the night
Before the rising sun.

5 Time, like an ever-rolling stream,
Soon bears us all away;
We fly forgotten, as a dream
Does at the opening day.

6 Our God, our help in ages past,
Our hope for years to come,
Still be our guard while troubles last,
And our eternal home!
