Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks. Ephesians 5:4. Read:
According to Merriam-Webster dictionary, defines jesting as an utterance (as a jeer or quip) intended to be as mockery or humor. One of the benefits of redemption package is Joy because you experience peace inside out. Even the Bible said in Proverbs 15:13, “A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance: but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken”. Proverbs 17:22 “A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones”. Laughter is a medicine for the soul and God expects us to laugh away our sorrow.
But today, many Ministers have turned the Church of God into a comedy house where comedians come to abuse the Pastors and make mockery of God all in the name of laughter. Through costly jesting, many comedians lie thereby playing with Hell fire because ‘All liars will end in Hell’. The Church of God is not a Cinema house but a place of prayer. Matt 21:13. All in the name of laughter, many are laughing away their eternity. No wonder Pro 14:13 says, “Even in laughter the heart is sorrowful; and the end of that mirth is heaviness”. This is because it was done foolishly. David hates those that hate and mock God, he count them his enemies. Ps 139:21-22.
