Memorise: For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s. 1 Corinthians 6:20

BIBLE READING: 1 Samuel 16:13-14

13 Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren: and the Spirit of the LORD came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel rose up, and went to Ramah.

14 But the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD troubled him.

Bible Reading In One Year: Psalms 116-118; 1 Cor. 2

MESSAGE:

How would you feel if you bought a beautiful clothe with a lot of money that you have saved overtime, then you kept it in your wardrobe and travelled only to return and discover that it has been turned into rag used to mop the floor in the house? The emotions that will come running through your veins can be likened to what God feels each time we misuse our body which is His temple. This is so because He bought our bodies with a high price; the life of His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ.

So, the moment you give our life to Christ, your body is no longer yours, it belongs to God. 1 Corinthians 3:17 says, “Ye are the temple of God.” Hence, the right to do as one pleased no longer exists. Rather, the Holy Spirit who dwells in the temple which is your body begins to control you.

It is a beautiful thing when the Holy Spirit dwells in you. You will lay hands on the sick and they will recover, when you command demons, they will obey you. You would also become untouchable.

Reflection:

How have you been using your body which is the temple of God?

Hymn: Take My Life And Let It Be

1.Take my life and let it be
Consecrated Lord to thee
Take my moment and days
Let them flow in ceaseless praise.

2.Take my hands and let them move
At the impulse of thy love
Take my feet and let them be
Swift and beautiful for thee

3.Take my voice and let me sing
Always only for my king
Take my lips and let them be
Filled with messages from thee.

4.Take my silver and my gold
Not a mite would I withhold
Take my intellect, and use
Every power as thou shalt choose.

5.Take my will and make it Thine,
It shall no longer be mine:
Take my heart, it is Thine own;
It shall be Thy royal throne,

6.Take my love, my Lord, I pour
At They feet its treasure store;
Take myself, and I will be
Ever, only, all for thee
