Independent National Election Commission’s Smart Card Reader on Saturday, rejected the finger-prints of Gov. Isa Yuguda of Bauchi State.

The development occured was when the governor went for his accreditation at his polling unit; Babasidi Primary School, Bauchi,

Media correspondent, who was at the scene of the incident, reports that the governor tried several times, but the card reader could not verify his finger-prints.

“I used all my fingers; still the machines could not verify me. I was asked to clean my thumb with my clothes, which I did with no result.

“May be there is something wrong with the machines,” he told news later while fielding questions. He expressed concern that the card reader rejected peoples’ finger prints. He however said that that he was impressed with the massive turnout of people and their orderly conduct during the exercise.

“I am really impressed that eligible voters turned out massively to exercise their civic rights,“ he said.. With the card reader unable to verify his finger-prints, Yuguda had to fill a form meant for those whose finger-prints were rejected by the machine, to enable him vote. [Vanguard]
