But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, Jude 1:20
Whatever level of faith you operate in now, is as a result of your effort towards building it or not. Everyone received a measure of faith from God, but growing that measure into great faith is our sole responsibility. Heb. 12:3,6. Many ought to have been flying in faith but they are still crawling because of their weak faith. The Bible shows us many ways by which we can build up our faith in God, let’s look at few of them.
1) Through the Word: Constantly studying and hearing God’s Word fire up your faith in Him. Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
2) Doing The Word: This means that, you do not only enjoy hearing the Word alone (because faith without work is dead), but take a step further to practicalise what the Word says. When your faith cannot be proven by work, it will remain inactive. Only the doers of the Word are blessed not the hearers. James 1:22-25
3) Through Testimony: Genuine testimony of the acts of God in the lives of men also help in building up your faith in Him. It helps you to trust God to do your own if He can do it for Sarah, Rachel, Hannah, Esther, Ruth, Joseph, Abraham, Daniel, Mary, Elizabeth and so on. Other ways to build up your faith are through effective prayer and through praying in the Holy Ghost.
