Kogi State Government says it will continue to place premium on the Medical Sector, by ensuring that its personnel are highly motivated to enable them discharge its responsibilities.

Kogi State Governor, Capt Idris Wada stated this when he received in audience, the National President of Fellowship of Christian Nurses, who led a delegation of its National Executives on a courtesy call on the State Governor.

Capt Wada represented by his Deputy, Yomi Awoniyi, said it has not only rehabilitated and upgraded its school of Nursing’s across the state, he says, it has ensured the full accreditation of courses in its school and colleges of Nursing’s.

Capt Wada disclosed that until March, 2015 when the allocation of the State dropped drastically, it has always ensured that salaries are paid on the 28th of every month.

The Governor disclosed that Kogi State remains one State that is not owing salaries, said arrangement is being concluded to pay July salaries, assured that with improvement in resources, government will ensure that what is due to its workers at all levels is paid.

Earlier in his remarks, Pastor Thomas Ibe, National President of Fellowship of Christian Nurses, Nigeria, said as Christian Nurses, their goal is to change the negative public perception about the Nursing profession that it is not just a profession but a calling as well as to deepen the faith of Christian Nurses.
