MEMORISE: Lying lips are abomination to the LORD: but they that deal truly are his delight. Proverbs 12:22

Read: John 8:44

44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

Bible In One Year: Amos 7-9; Revelation 7:1-17

MESSAGE:

Satan is the father of lies and because he is a fallen angel who knows that in the end, he will be cast into the lake of fire till eternity (Revelation 20:10 ); he is doing everything possible to get Gods children on his side. God on the other hand detests lies. Today, the idea of the white lie is being sold to Christians. A white lie is believed to be any lie that does not hurt the person it is told to. Believe me my child, there is nothing like white or black lie. Anything that is not the truth is a lie and it carries the same weight as the sin of fornication before God.

As a Christian teenager, you are expected to hate lies and be ready to say the truth always. The truth will set you free and save you from dangerous situations. Even if you have done something that is likely to put you in trouble, it is better you tell the truth, than cover up your sin. You will not only disappoint the people who trust you, you will disappoint God also.

If you didn’t tell a lie directly, but helped someone to cover up a lie, you are still guilty. If you have a friend who is constantly encouraging you to tell lies, please run away from such people. It is better for you to suffer the consequence of your actions than for you to go to hell because all liars will go to hell!

Prayer Point:

Father, please help me to speak the truth at all times.

Hymns: Stand Up! Stand Up For Jesus

  1. Stand up, stand up for Jesus!
    Ye soldiers of the cross;
    Lift high His royal banner,
    It must not suffer loss:
    From victory unto victory,
    His army shall He lead,
    Till every foe is vanquished,
    And Christ is Lord indeed.
  2. Stand up, stand up for Jesus!
    The trumpet call obey:
    Forth to the mighty conflict,
    In this His glorious day;
    Ye that are men now serveHim
    Against unnumbered foes;
    Let courage rise with danger,
    And strength to strength
    oppose.
  3. Stand up, stand up for Jesus!
    Stand in His strength alone,
    The arm of flesh will fail you,
    Ye dare not trust your own;
    Put on the gospel armour,
    And watching unto prayer,
    When duty calls or danger,
    Be never wanting there.
  4. Stand up, stand up for Jesus!
    The strife will not be long;
    This day the noise of battle,
    The next the victor’s song;
    To him that overcometh
    A crown of life shall be;
    He with the King of glory
    Shall reign eternally.
